Corkum to lead Women's Volleyball Club

| Athletics

UPEI Athletics and Recreation announced this week that Josh Corkum will lead the Women's Volleyball Club as Head Coach.

Corkum has an extensive background in volleyball-the former AUS Men's Volleyball student-athlete with the UNB Reds also played in the Volleyball Nova Scotia Provincial Program. His coaching background includes Volleyball PEI U16, PEI Canada Games, Volleyball Nova Scotia provincial teams and Nova Scotia clubs, as well as junior high and high school programs in Nova Scotia. Corkum has also coached internationally at the University of Maine. He's been very involved with the introduction, development, and promotion of volleyball of all ages and skill-sets.

'They're a great bunch of girls. They really have a passion for getting this program up and running,' said Corkum in an interview with The Guardian. 'They're becoming very close. It's sort of becoming a little volleyball family.'

The team will kick off their season in competition play during the Mount Allison University tournament on October 5 and 6.
