The Faculty of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island has openings for sessional instructors to teach in the MBA in Global Leadership Program for the Winter 2024 semester. These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the courses offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as online courses.

BUS 7950-1 – Special Topics: Leading in a Diverse and Inclusive Environment

This course will explore how business leaders can meet their moral obligations and the challenges that can arise in the process of strengthening their organizations. This course focuses on equipping students to be leaders who create, leverage and foster diverse, inclusive and equitable environments. The course explores expanding traditional definitions of Diversity and Inclusion through a broad range of perspectives including race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, indigenization, age and mobility to name a few. Additional focus will be placed on increasing emotional intelligence and the implications of successfully leading in a globally diverse environment. 

BUS 7520-1 – Disruptive Technologies and Creative Business Thinking

This course develops students’ ability to think creatively, and to manage within an environment of disruptive technologies. The course examines the research on disruptive technologies to enrich students’ understanding of the pace and direction of change and how it will influence companies as they adapt to the changing business world. The course also examines the research on creativity.

Qualifications:

For an MBA course, we seek applicants with a strong combination of qualifications and experience. Minimum educational credentials include a PhD and/or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. In addition, advanced senior management experience in the course topic is preferred and is a requirement for applicants without a PhD. Prior teaching experience, and knowledge and familiarity with “Evidence-based Management” principles will be considered assets.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Faculty of Business Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
