shOut! PEI's Gender & Sexuality Awareness Conference
GSA once stood for Gay-Straight Alliances, but the terminology is evolving along with the understanding and experiences of gender and sexuality. Be part of the conversation at shOUT! PEI’s 5th annual Gender & Sexuality Awareness Conference! The day-long event will feature hands on workshops, engaging presentations, and thought provoking discussion panels around LGBTQ2S+ issues faced by Islanders. The keynote performance is by Island-raised artist, Tanya Davis.
We're stoked to be able to feature workshops on drag make-up and zine-making, among others. Our various presentations will cover issues such as LGBTQ2S+ mental health, how to start your very own GSA, a radical safer sex talk ,and more! Queer focused discussion panels will run throughout the day for a chance to share your thoughts, opinions, and feelings.
And don't forget to check out QueerScape to see the plethora of talent possessed by queer Island artists! We are still accepting art in any medium from queer island artists. If you're interested, let's talk about it! Please send us a brief statement about your work and we'll (try our darnedest to) make it happen.
