| Description: | Awarded to a student entering full-time studies (5 courses/15 semester-hours per semester) in the Nursing program at UPEI. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been a resident of PEI for a minimum of five years; mature students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. *2 Awards Available for 2019/2020 academic year* |
| Background: | This scholarship is established at the University of Prince Edward Island in memory of Audrey J. Tinney by TheTinney Family (her sons, Bill Tinney, UPEI Class of 1982 and Roger Tinney, Holland College Class of 1983, aswell as husband Donald Tinney, PWC Class of 1948) to support students entering first year in the UPEI Schoolof Nursing. Audrey Tinney (PWC Class of 1949 and PEI Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1952) was a strong, dedicatednurse, respected by those who worked with her and were treated by her in her 40 plus years as a registerednurse. Her passion for nursing equaled her enthusiasm for life on Prince Edward Island with all it had tooffer. She was well loved and is fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. |
