| Background: | This award was created by UPEI Panther Athletes in memory of René Ayangma who died during his third year at UPEI. René was a sports enthusiast and former Panther who excelled at a number of sports. His personal qualities and love of life were felt by all that knew him. The Passion for Life Award is established to recognize all Panther athletes who pass away during their time as a UPEI student. |
