Sessional Instructor - Department of Political Science - Faculty of Arts (Fall 2018)
The Department of Political Science at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor to teach POLS-1010 in Fall 2018. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
POLS-1010 Introductory Politics I: Government and Politics in Liberal Democracies
This course is a comprehensive introduction to politics. Initially students explore the nature of political activity and basic concepts such as political culture, the nation-state, the various roles of government, and the international system. The course examines differences among democratic, authoritarian, and totalitarian political systems just as it introduces students to such contemporary ideologies as liberalism, conservatism, socialism and nationalism.
Lecture/Seminar: Three hours a week
3 hours credit
Qualifications:
Successful applicant will have a minimum of a Ph.D. in Political Science
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
