Sessional Instructor - Department of Political Science - Faculty of Arts (Summer 2019)
The Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor to teach POLS 3090-1 (The End of Globalization) - Summer 2019. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
POLS 3090-1 Special Topics – The End of Globalization
This course examines the evolution, nature, processes and consequences of economic globalization in a post-Brexit and Trumpian "America First" world. In the first part, students will discuss, among other things, whether we are currently witnessing "politics as usual" or the rejection of the norms and assumptions underpinning the existing liberal international economic and political order. In the second half of the course, the analytical focus will turn to the economic challenges facing globalization, the resurgence of identity politics and nationalism and the increasing disillusionment with multilateral institutions.
Successful applicant will have a minimum of a Ph.D. in Political Science
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster of the academic unit.
