Office of the Vice-President, Academic and Research
The Office of the Vice-President, Academic and Research (OVPAR) provides direction and support to academic units and student services; enhances the research activities of the University; and works collegially with the UPEI Senate and student organizations. The OVPAR ensures that university policies and processes are implemented with institutional efficiency and inclusiveness. It strives to effectively align the university’s resources with its strategic priorities and academic mission.
The Office is committed to continual innovation and delivery of high quality undergraduate and graduate programs across a broad range of disciplines. The OVPAR also provides administrative assistance, support and strategic guidance for these academic and student services. It fosters an environment for excellence in teaching and learning, active community engagement, as well as a positive and supportive culture that raises the research profile of the University. In fulfilling its mission, the OVPAR is guided by principles of excellence in all of its efforts, a focus on student success, academic freedom, EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion), Indigenous reconciliation, and effective collaborations among units and offices.
